Saddlebred-type ponies should resemble the Saddlebred as closely as possible and have a graceful trot and easy canter typical of the breed. They need not be registered with the American Saddlebred Registry. Classes shall follow the standards and specifications set forth in similar classes for Saddlebred Horses. Saddlebred-type Pony classes are restricted to mares and geldings 14.2 hands and under. The owner must possess a current USEF Measurement Card or a valid measurement form issued by the Federation. See GR502. Cards must be available on request or pony should be available for measurement should any question arise. Protest fee of $200 will be required; only direct competitors allowed to protest. Ponies must be ridden by Junior Exhibitors; therefore, manners are paramount and the ponies should have agreeable attitudes. All classes in this division are judged on manners, performance, presence, quality and conformation.
